We are excited to partner with the Canadian Animal Blood Bank to host a Canine Blood Donor Clinic on Monday, March 17, 2025.
We're looking for healthy dogs that meet the following criteria:
Your dog should also be comfortable with people and enjoy cuddles, as a few team members will be present to ensure their safety and comfort.
Absolutely! If your pet finds comfort in your presence, you're welcome to stay by their head during the donation process.
Just like humans, dogs have different blood types. Negative blood is the universal type and is in high demand for emergency transfusions. Certain breeds are more likely to have this life-saving blood type, including:
If your dog is one of these breeds, we strongly encourage you to consider signing up!
We want every donation to be a positive experience. If your dog shows discomfort or nervousness, we will stop the process. Some dogs may need time to get comfortable, and we're happy to try again later to make sure they feel at ease.
After donating, your dog will be treated to water, treats, and plenty of relaxation for the day. Their one donation can save up to three dogs! Blood donations are processed into different products and used to help dogs in need.
Since dogs can donate every three months, we hope to welcome our hero donors back for future clinics!
